Wood Cutting party planned at the Radford Road clubhouse. We need to get the wood in for the upcoming cold season. The date is SaturdeyOctober 17th, and starts at 9am. Lunch will be provided. We need you help!!! If you are available please come out. We need chainsaws, wood spliters, and strong backs. With enough help, we should get the wood pile cut down in a couple hours. Please try to attend.

NOTICE... The September 7th monthly meeting has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th, starting at 8pm, due to the Labor Day holiday.

Please see our bow shoot events. We have had to reschedule, and or, cancel the shoots.

Summer Clean Up!!! We are having a work party at the Enlow Road Farmclub. It will be on Saturday, July 25th, and starts at 9am. We are getting prepared for the upcoming bow shoots on July 26th, and also the Buckeye Cam shoot on August 1st. Lunch will be provided. Please come out and lend a hand. We will be cleaning inside, and out, working one the gun ranges, mowing, bush hogging, weedeating etc. Call Scott Gray for more information at 594-1886.

The Hocking Valley Sportsman Association Inc. is having a fundraiser to help pay for a new heating and cooling unit. The system at our Radford Road Clubhouse was installed in 1988 and has expired. To help offset the costs associated with the new equiptment, the Board of Directors has decided to have a fundraiser. The Local Bricklayers union which holds its monthly meetings at our clubhouse, has donated $500. That money has been used to buy a CVA Wolf inline 50 caliper muzzleloader, and pay costs associated with mailing. We have sent a newsletter with upcoming events, tickets, and a return envelope to each member. If you do not receive a newsletter, we need to update your mailing information in our computer. The drawing for the muzzleloader will be held at our annual "Green Corn Feed / Past Presidents Dinner", on August 22nd. For additional tickets, or information contact Scott Gray at 1-740-594-1886

We are forming another CCW class for our members. A sign up sheet has been posted at both clubhouses, so feel free to sign up. The date and time will be decided when we have enough members for a class. We will try to pick the best date to acccomodate all that have signed up.

Top fisherman for the kids fishing derby are as follows;

Boys age 0-5----Max Dye with a 7 1/2" bluegill
Boys age 6-10---Derek Buckley with a 12 1/2" bass
Boys age 11-15--Justin Shumate with a 15" bass

Girls age 0-5---Madison Johnson with a 12 3/8" bass
Girls age 6-10--Schuyler Watts with a 6 3/4" bluegill
Girls age 11-15-Sadie Herdman with a 8" crappie

All youth that fished in our youth fishing derby received a prize bag with fishing tackle. We hope everyone enjoyed the derby, and refreshments. Please see the pictures from the derby on our photo album. Hope to see you all again next year.

We need help mowing at the Radford clubhouse. Red Williams has other obligations at this time, so he can't mow like he used to. Thank you Red for so many years of providing us with lawn care!! The mower is in the shed by the walk in cooler, and there should be fuel there also. Feel free to mow any amount that you have time for. It takes all our members to make this club work, so try to help out if you can.
